Books/Genres I'm Interested in Discussing/Chatting About: Any, to be honest? I'm currently reading Natasha Pulley's latest, The Mars House, and uh. I have a feeling it's going to be a big one for discussing and thoughts and just all around complicated feelings.

Date: 2024-05-03 01:22 pm (UTC)Valery K is quite a bit different in plot, considering it's set in the real past rather than some alt history unlike all the others.
I really do like how good Pulley is at explaining things, be it linguistics or actual science (or at least, as with the Mars House, making some of the bogus science sound plausible).
ETA: Anyway, friends? :D

Date: 2024-05-04 10:45 am (UTC)Yeah, I know what you mean. With Valery K and also Mars House I made an effort to tackle them, because the odds were good I'd like them and also they'd at least get me reading again in my slump. Always a plus. (And then Valery K sort of came up again this year and I had to write an actual ficlet.)
